Highlight of liverpool vs arsenal | Liverpool 2–2 Arsenal | Salah & Firmino complete the comeback at Anfield.

Premier League Giants Clash

Liverpool managed to secure a draw against Arsenal after Firmino’s header in the final minutes of the game. The match was full of excitement and kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout.

The both team played out a thrilling draw at Anfield that ended 2-2. The Reds needed a late equalizer from Roberto Firmino to salvage a point and deny the Gunners a rare win on Merseyside.

It was a match full of drama and intensity, with both sides showing their attacking flair and defensive frailties. Despite dominating possession and having more chances, Liverpool struggled to convert their opportunities into goals. Arsenal, on the other hand, were dangerous on the counter-attack and tested Alisson Becker several times.

Here are some of the key talking points from the match:

  • Firmino's heroics: The Brazilian striker had gone 15 league games without scoring before this match, but he made a timely return to form with a well-taken brace. He was lively and involved throughout, linking up well with his teammates and creating chances. His first goal was a clever finish from a tight angle after a mistake by Bernd Leno, and his second was a powerful header that left the Arsenal keeper no chance. Firmino has now scored eight goals in 11 games against Arsenal, making them his favourite opponent in the league.

  • Arsenal's resilience: The Gunners have struggled against Liverpool in recent years, losing their last six league games at Anfield by an aggregate score of 23-7. However, they showed a different side of their game on this occasion, defending with discipline and organisation, and exploiting Liverpool's high line with pace and movement. They also showed character and belief to take the lead twice, despite being under pressure for most of the game. Mikel Arteta's side have improved significantly since their poor start to the season, and this performance will give them confidence for the rest of the campaign.

  • Liverpool's defensive issues: The Reds have been hampered by injuries to their centre-backs this season, and they looked vulnerable at the back again against Arsenal. They conceded two goals from simple long balls over the top, which exposed their lack of pace and communication. They also failed to deal with Arsenal's set-pieces, allowing Martinelli to score from a corner. Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to have Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back soon, as well as signing a new defender in January.

  • The impact of the substitutes: Both managers made changes in the second half that had an effect on the game. Klopp brought on Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Sadio Mane and Thiago Alcantara, adding more energy and directness to Liverpool's attack. Jota scored with his first touch after coming on, tapping in Mohamed Salah's cross. Oxlade-Chamberlain also had a shot saved by Leno. Arteta introduced Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe for Bukayo Saka and Nicolas Pepe, adding more freshness and creativity to Arsenal's forward line. Martinelli scored with his first touch as well, heading in Kieran Tierney's corner. Smith Rowe also had a chance to make it 3-2, but his shot was blocked by Fabinho.

  • The controversy of VAR: The match was not without controversy, as both teams had complaints about some of the decisions made by the referee and the video assistant referee (VAR). Liverpool felt they should have had a penalty in the first half when Mane was brought down by Leno in the box, but the VAR ruled that there was no clear and obvious error by the referee. Arsenal also felt aggrieved when Lacazette's goal was disallowed for offside by a marginal call by the VAR. The French striker looked level with Fabinho when he received Smith Rowe's pass before slotting past Alisson.

In the end, it was a fair result that reflected the quality and flaws of both sides. Liverpool will be disappointed to .
